Staying busy

I have discovered that staying busy and not letting my anxious tendencies take over are key and when I have days where I feel good to take full advantage!

I might have to sit and rest often but the last few days it hasn't been as much. I have accepted and respect the fatigue and rest when I feel tired and practice knowing when to rest and when to push through. If I keep my mind busy, the stress of resenting having to rest doesn't sap more energy from me.
How to deal with the stress of resting?  Make life comfortable yet be able to still get stuff done.

My clever superhero made me a lap desk (of which i will post about in more detail) so I can sit on the LoveSac and still be productive and he also ordered me a new laptop to go with my lap desk. He is pretty rad!

Just because I can, I will brag about mention that he also built a small moveable deck for he and I to sit and enjoy our backyard. He bought comfortable chairs today for it. The deck will eventually have wheels on one side so he can move it to mow or when we want to get better shade.

I take lots of pictures of the gear I get to review!  The boys all got shoes from New Balance for the school season starting up and I have been taking pictures in our backyard.  Its a little brown and dry but its a pretty great backyard with good light.

So, what else have i been up to? I have implemented reading programs for the little fellas and have been planning and thinking of our homeschool year starting soon. I can sit and read books to them and feel fulfilled knowing I am taking care of them as well as my own soul.

We bought a pair of Budgies or Parakeets. We have been talking about it for a while and yesterday we surprised the boys with a trip to Pet Smart. I chose a blue male and a green female. They are starting to settle in and I have been able to get the male to sit on my finger briefly. The boys are nuts about them! One of our words to memorize now is bird.  They are no replacement for the pug I want but they are a nice addition with their lovely chirping.

And for the icing on the cake.... I have had to wear a sweatshirt for the last few mornings!  The heat has sapped the life out of me this summer and the reprieve has been AWESOME!

Here's to the days when I stay busy and go to bed feeling fulfilled.
Cheers,
Angie Bee

You hubby is a great handyman. Every good wife needs one of those. I was meant to read your post today. Both of my boys have left for college and I'm feeling very anxious. I hate that feeling. I to am trying to keep busy so i dont have to feel that anxious feeling. I know for me time will make it better but it still hurts now that they are not around. I hope what ever you are going through get better girl. Take care of yourself and that wonderful family.
